Australian Open 2025 Results: Novak Djokovic beats Carlos Alcaraz in Melbourne semis

Novak Djokovic produced another incredible comeback by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in a thrilling encounter to reach the Australian Open semi-finals.
The 37-year-old Serb overcame injury, age and ranking to win 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4 against his 21-year-old rival in Melbourne.
Djokovic, seeking a record 11th men’s singles title, limped into Rod Laver Arena at the end of the first set with a groin problem.
But, after being taken off the court for treatment, she made an impressive recovery to continue her bid for a 25th Grand Slam win – which would be an all-time record.
Djokovic played aggressively until the pain subsided, allowing him to move more freely and take control of the match.
Spanish third-seeded Alcaraz became increasingly agitated as he struggled to figure out how to turn an entertaining contest back in his favour.
When seventh-seeded Djokovic sealed victory at 00:57 local time after a battle that lasted three hours and 38 minutes, he roared at coach Andy Murray.
Djokovic and Alcaraz shared a warm embrace at the net after a highly anticipated match that lived up to expectations.
The loss ended Alcaraz’s hopes of becoming the youngest person to complete a career Grand Slam – for now, at least.
Instead, Djokovic advanced to the semi-finals, where he will face second seed Alexander Zverev of Germany on Friday.
