Australian Open 2025 results: Iga Swiatek beats Emma Navarro to send Madison Keys into semis

Iga Swiatek lost only three games and easily defeated Emma Navarro to reach the Australian Open semi-finals and continue her bid for a first Melbourne title.

Five-time major winner Swiatek recorded a 6-1, 6-2 win over eighth-seeded Navarro.

Swiatek has lost just 14 games at Melbourne Park this year – and seven of those came in his first-round matches.

The Pole will face Madison Keys in the last four after the American came back from a set down to beat Elina Svitolina.

Keys will have to be at her best to defeat Swiatek, who was dominant against the highly rated Navarro.

Swiatek took the lead in the first service game of the match and won the opening set in just 36 minutes.

However, there was controversy in the second set at 2-2 when the umpire did not see a double bounce at the crucial moment.

The ball bounced twice before Swiatek took advantage of her serve to flick over a winner, but umpire Eva Asderaki-Moore missed.

Navarro protested but was unable to use video technology review – which could have shown re-broadcast footage – because she continued to drive the point rather than stopping it.

Swiatek later broke in the next game and won the match to equal her best result at Melbourne Park.
