The aircraft crashed near the oil fields soon after the takeoff for the capital Juba.
At least 20 people have been killed in an aircraft accident north of South Sudan, the minister of Ekta State said.
The aircraft came near the oil fields in the state at around 10:30 pm (08:30 GMT) soon after leaving for the capital Juba on Wednesday.
“The aircraft crashed 500 meters from the airport … 21 people were on the board. For now, there is only one survivor, ”Gatvek Bipal both told the AFP news agency.
The minister, a South Sudani engineer, who was working in the oil field, was rushed to Bentiu State Hospital, the minister said.
He said that the aircraft, chartered by Greater Pioneer Operating Company (GPOC) and Light Air Services operated by Aviation Company, was on a regular mission for the region.
Earlier, the United Nations Radio Miraya reported that the pilot and co-pilot were among those killed.
