A massive fire broke out in the Livingston factory buildings.

The fire broke out at the Brucefield Industrial Estate, south of Livingston.

Firefighters are tackling a “significant” blaze which started in a factory and has spread to surrounding buildings at an industrial estate near Livingston, West Lothian.

They were called to Brucefield Industrial Estate, Bellsquarry, just after 13:30 on Saturday.

Police have advised the public to stay away from this area. Residents living nearby have been asked to keep their windows and doors closed.

Several nearby roads were closed, including the Wilderness Roundabout, Cochrane Square and Brucefield Park West.

The smoke could be seen as far as a high point 10 miles away in Fife. There are house roofs in the foreground and smoke rising from a wind farm on the distant horizon.

The smoke can be seen from several miles away.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that there were nine appliances at the scene.

“Firefighters are currently working to extinguish the fire, which has engulfed a large factory and several surrounding buildings,” he said.

There is no news of anyone getting injured.
