One person dies in Lake District ridge fall
One person died after falling 300 feet (70 m) down the hill.
The alarm was raised after he fell from a sharp edge at Blencathra in the Lake District on Thursday afternoon.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team volunteers recovered the man’s body, which was taken to an air ambulance and flown to the team’s base.
The team has thanked other hikers who went to help, and expressed condolences to the man’s family.
