Arrested for attempted murder after car hits four people
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after four pedestrians were injured following reports of a car being driven on the wrong side of the road.
Police were called to Shaftesbury Avenue, west London, at 00:45 GMT.
The Met Police said a pedestrian was in danger.
The driver – a 31-year-old man – was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police are considering this as an isolated incident, which has nothing to do with terrorism.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Stuart Cundy said: “Detectives have been carrying out rapid inquiries as part of this investigation.
“It is believed the suspect was involved in an altercation at a nightclub before getting into his car and driving onto the sidewalk.”
