Infosys’s Narayana Murthy reiterates the need to work 70 hours a week
Speaking at an event at the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Narayana Murthy said, “At Infosys, we said that we will go to the best and compare ourselves with the best international companies. When we compare ourselves with the best international companies, I can tell you We have to make a lot of efforts because 80 crore people of the country get free ration. If we are not in a position to work hard. who works hard Will you do it?”
He said that entrepreneurs play an important role in building a country by creating wealth and employment. Last month, Narayana Murthy had said that he does not believe in the concept of work-life balance. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his cabinet colleagues and bureaucrats are working hard for the country. Narayana Murthy had said, “When Prime Minister Modi is working almost 100 hours a week, we can show our appreciation for it only through our work. There is no substitute for hard work. If you are a very intelligent person Still, you have to work hard. That’s why I’m not withdrawing my opinion.” Narayana Murthy started the company in 1981 with the help of six software professionals.
Last year also Narayan Murthy had advised to work 70 hours in a week. However, there was a lot of debate on his advice. Many people opposed this. There were some people in support of this also. Many business owners agreed on the need to increase productivity. Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola Electric, a major electric two-wheeler maker, had supported Narayana Murthy’s advice of 70 hours of work a week.
