Australia vs India: Steve Smith and Travis Head hit centuries in Brisbane Test
Centuries from Steve Smith and Travis Head put Australia on top despite the late dismissal of India’s Jasprit Bumrah on the second day of the third Test in Brisbane.
The pair came together at 75-3 and nearly put on a 241-run partnership for the fourth wicket before Bumrah dismissed both him and Mitchell Marsh with the second new ball at the Gabba.
Smith scored 101 runs in 26 innings without a Test century, while Head scored 152 runs from 160 balls for his second consecutive century.
Bumrah returned to complete his 12th five-for in Tests, having earlier dismissed openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney.
Alex Carey and Pat Cummins put on a 58-run partnership as Australia reached 405-7 at stumps before the latter was out late.
