Palace investigates after domestic staff incident
Buckingham Palace has said it will take “appropriate action” after reports one of its domestic staff was arrested following a Christmas party at a London bar.
Police are said to have been called to a bar in Victoria, which is near the palace, at 21:21 GMT on Tuesday after reports that a customer had broken glasses and attempted to attack a member of staff. Had tried.
A 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of common assault, criminal damage, being drunk and disorderly.
A Palace spokesperson said it was aware of an incident involving staff members outside the workplace and “the facts will be fully investigated”.

The woman was reportedly given a penalty notice for disorderly conduct after being detained and kept in custody till the next day.
The spokesperson confirmed that the staff were at a reception at the palace that evening, but insisted that the incident had occurred at an informal gathering elsewhere.
In a statement to the Sun, the Metropolitan Police said: “At 21.21am on Tuesday, December 10, officers were called to a bar in Victoria Street, SW1, following reports that a customer had broken glasses and a member of staff. An attempt was made to attack the member.
“Officers arrested a 24-year-old woman on suspicion of common assault, criminal damage and being drunk and disorderly.
“He was taken into custody and released the next evening after serving a penalty notice for disorderly conduct.”
A Palace spokesperson told the BBC: “We are aware of an incident that took place outside the workplace, involving a number of domestic staff who had previously attended an evening reception at the Palace.
“Although this was an informal social gathering, not an official Palace Christmas party, the facts will be fully investigated, a robust disciplinary process will be followed in relation to individual staff and appropriate action will be taken.”
