Does Kaiv feel that a ceasefire will work?
The BBC is talking to people in Kiev to find out whether people in the Ukrainian capital believe that a ceasefire deal can be a step towards ending the war with Russia.
Ukraine agreed to a plan for the 30-day ceasefire earlier this week, after talks with the United States.
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has since said that he agrees to the idea of a ceasefire in Ukraine, but said that “questions” remains about the nature of a trus.
He also determined many difficult situations for peace. Ukrainian President Volodimier Zelansky described Putin’s response as “manipulation” to the plan and called for more restrictions on Russia.
Russia began a full -scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, after its annexation of Crimea in 2014, and a war has since continued.
