Woman arrested us for captivating step -son for 20 years

A connecting person whose stepmother reportedly took him captive for 20 years, survived the small room in it, the officials said.
Officials responded to the fire and rescued a 32 -year -old man from a room of 72 square feet (6.7 square meters). The alleged prisoner weighed 68 pounds (30 kg) when he escaped and was treated for smoke breath.
In the Waterbury of Connecticut, the police said that the man confessed to setting fire after years of “prolonged misconduct, starvation, severe neglect and inhuman treatment”.
His stepmother, who is accused of captive and hungry, was accused of kidnapping and cruelty. He has denied the allegations.
Explaining his argument for the fire, the man told the police: “I wanted my freedom.”
The prosecutors allege that they were given a sandwich and two small water bottles for a day for a day. He was out of captivity for only two hours under the supervision of his stepmother.
An prosecutor said in the court on Wednesday that he set fire using a hand sanitizer, paper and a lighter.
His stepmother, 56 -year -old Kimberly Sulivan, was at home at the time of fire, but did not talk to the authorities when he reached the spot.
Ms. Sulivan’s lawyer said the allegations were false.
“He was not locked in a room,” a lawyer, Eonis Kaloidis, told the local media. “He did not stop him in any way. He provided food; he provided shelter. He is blown out of these allegations.”
The fire was scheduled on 17 February, and the local police arrested Ms. Sulivan on Wednesday.
Waterbury Police Head Fernando Spagnollo said the details of the case “both heartbreaking and unimaginable”.
Police said the victim told them that she was taken captive in her family’s house in Waterbury since the age of 11 years.
The prosecutor said, “He was locked in the room for 20 years, and for 20 years he had been trying to get out of that room.”
The officials did not clarify when his father died, but he said that his conditions deteriorated as a result.
When he was found, the officials said that they had 11 body mass index (BMI). National Health Service says that a healthy range is between 18.5 and 24.9.
Police said that during his captivity, anonymous man had not received medical or dental care.
