Arora Borelis seen from International Space Station

These photos of the International Space Station (ISS) show the greens and reds of Arora Borelis dancing in the sky in Canada.
Northern lights are often seen from the ground – especially in high latitude areas close to the Arctic – but can also be seen from space.
Natural phenomenon occurs when the magnetic field of the Earth is interrupted by solar air, a stream of charge particles released by the Sun.
Since January 2025, the city’s lights in this footage have been visible on the ground below as ISS is in the form of ISS classes on the Canadian landscape. The space station then climbs 259 miles (417 km) over the Atlantic.
