Jay-Z accused in 2000 rape case of 13-year-old girl named ‘Diddy’ Entertainment News
The billionaire musician, who is married to superstar Beyonce, has denied the ‘heinous’ allegations and described them as a ‘blackmail attempt’.
American rapper and music producer Jay-Z has been accused in a civil lawsuit with hip-hop star Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000, court documents show, the artist This claim is strongly refuted.
An updated civil complaint filed Sunday alleges that Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, as well as Combs raped the girl at a party after the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2000.
“While Combs and Carter took turns attacking the minor, another celebrity stood by and watched. Several other people were present at the after-party, but did nothing to stop the attack,” the complaint states.
“Carter has been with Combs during many of the instances described here. “Both criminals must face justice.”
Combs, also known as Diddy, is currently in prison on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
The updated lawsuit notes that Jay-Z was originally identified as “Celebrity A” in the complaint against Combs, which accused Carter of filing a “frivolous” counter-suit.
The plaintiffs have not been identified in the lawsuit.
Jay-Z fired back at the lawyer who brought the case, accusing him of being a “despicable human being.”
“My attorney received what is called a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee. What he calculated was that the nature of these allegations and the public inquiry would lead me to compromise. No sir, it had the opposite effect! “This inspired me to expose your fraud,” Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation said in a statement published on X.
“These allegations are of such a heinous nature that I request you to file a criminal complaint and not a civil complaint!! Anyone who commits such a crime against a minor should be put in jail, wouldn’t you agree? If that were the case, these alleged victims would deserve real justice.”
Carter, 55, is a billionaire record producer and entrepreneur who started out as a rapper and is now married to superstar Beyoncé.
Buzbee, the lawyer who brought the action against Jay-Z, told AFP news agency: “The petition speaks for itself. This is a very serious matter which will be prosecuted in court.”
Buzbee also said that the alleged rape victim he is representing “never asked for a penny” from Jay-Z, and wrote that “she only asked for confidential mediation”.
Federal prosecutors allege that Combs, 55, sexually assaulted women and forced them to attend drug-fueled sex parties using threats and violence.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges, and his criminal trial is currently scheduled to begin on May 5, 2025.
He has also faced a huge wave of suits by lawyers, including Texas lawyer Buzbee, who said in October that more than 100 alleged victims were planning legal action against him.
