Cardiff Parkway Station approved by Welsh Government

The first minister has approved the plan to build a new mainline railway station in Eastern Cardiff.

The developers behind the Cardiff Parkway were waiting for a decision in October 2022 after the Welsh government called the original planning application for review.

Elund Morgan confirmed that she is allowing the plan to plan in a letter sent to Cardiff Parkway Developments, which is overseeing the project in the city’s St. Mellon area.

Welsh government has been asked to comment.

Cardiff Parkway will include four platforms and a railway station with a business park.

The developers hoped that the Staion would be operational by 2024, but the planning process was delayed.

The schemes were approved by the Cardiff Council in April 2022, but the comprehensive national interest in the project motivated the Welsh government to review the application.

Earlier this month, Cardiff Labor Council Leader, Hu Thomas, Criticism of “inexplicable” and “uncertain” Time taken by Welsh government to make decisions.

The Welsh government has a minority stake in the organization with the Investake and Roberts family.

There are 20 train stations in Cardiff, but no one is located in the east of the city.

The CF3 Postcode region, Service, Tribridge, Ramani and Lalanrumani’s service to the eastern suburbs, is home to over 40,000 people.

The bus trip from St. Mellon to Cardiff City Center may take up to one hour compared to a 25 -minute car trip, but a train service can mean only seven minutes of travel time.
