Six Palestinians killed in major Israeli military operation in Jenin
The Palestinian Health Ministry says at least six Palestinians have been killed and 35 wounded following a major operation by Israeli security forces in Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel’s army, police and Shin Bet security service have launched a “major and significant” operation to “eliminate terrorism” in Jenin.
Israeli troops moved into Jenin and its refugee camp on Tuesday morning after several drone strikes, Palestinian media reported.
It comes after a week-long operation by Palestinian security forces targeting armed groups in the camp, which they see as a challenge to their authority.
