66 million years old in search in Denmark

In Denmark, a piece of fossil vomiting dating back during the time of dinosaurs has been discovered.

Local fossil Hunter Peter Bennnic found fossils in the country’s east in a UNESCO -touched coastal rock -stevenes clint.

Self -declared “fossil gake” said he came into some unusual looking pieces, which became pieces of sea lily – a underwater species related to starfish and marine arachin – in a piece of chalk.

Mr. Bennike took the pieces to investigate at the East Zelarland museum, which confirmed that the vomit could be dated to the end of the Cretesius period 66 million years ago – a time when dinosaurs, including tirenosaurus and diplodocos, existed.

Jester Milan, a peliytologist and curator at the museum, told the BBC that it was a “really an unusual discovery” because it helps explain relationships in the prehistoric food chain.

“It tells us something about who was eating 66 million years ago,” he said.

During the period, fish and sharks will eat sea lilies, which are difficult to digest, meaning that they “start all chalk bits”, they explained.

“This discovery is a unique glimpse in everyday conditions at the bottom of the Creteseous Sea – the sea during which the dinosaurs lived,” he said.

This discovery is also important to improve our understanding of previous ecosystems.

Mr. Milan said that his museum had only sent information to the local press but the search has created global interest. “This is the world’s most famous piece ever,” he said.
