The Heart of the Dalkowski Hills, a breathtaking 300 -year -old, has won the Poland the European Tree of the Year Award for the fourth consecutive time.
Standing long in the historic park of Dalków, deep-red beauty is a favorite symbol for the community.
There is also a bizarre tradition of visitors: throwing peanuts into a hole in it, their desires are expected to come true.
The competition celebrates our relations with nature by displaying beautiful and unique trees from the entire continent.
There are some other trees here who scored high in the competition:

The second place is the royal Portuguese Moreton Bay Fig.
The tree was planted with seeds exchanged with the botanical garden of Sydney at the romantic Quinta Das Lagrimas Garden of Coimbra in the 19th century and is a valuable landmark.

Pino de Juan Molinera is in third place.
A 400 -year -old stone pine in Spain’s Abgenbre, this tree has sheltered generations of local people and has seen countless ceremonies, childhood games and romance.
It has tolerated floods, snowfall and an electric strike, which stands as a will for flexibility and history.

Scipinish oak in Scotland, UK is a 400 -year giant, proudly standing in Elachber’s Woodland.
It is one of the largest oaks in the region and is an important ecosystem for rare license such as black-igneous surs.
Recently crowned the UK winner, it is a favorite local treasure.

Synt-Rafale’s old chestnut in Belgium is a 150 to 200 year old witness to the history of Sint-Job-in-At-Goer.

Rab is the freedom tree in Croatia, a 105 -year -old Holm Oak who stands as a symbol of community and heritage.
Generations have nurtured it, many families have passed stories of ancestors that helped to put it. Honoring its role in the history of the city, its centenary was celebrated with a grand program.

Lukavis Oak in the Czech Republic is 700 to 800 years old, was once threatened by property owners who tried to remove its soil.
Describing the destruction, it is still strong, symbolizing flexibility and pride for the local community.

The peaceful Oak of St.-Mauris in France is the 200 to 250-year-old guardian of the Lanta River, who stands at the entrance of Abhay of St.-Mouris.
A shelter for wildlife, even next to it is an oater -shaped bench, which honors its fickle regular partner.

The aircraft tree in the garden of the archbishop in Hungary is a historic milestone in Agar, known for its grandeur and shaded canopy.
Legend says that Hungarian leaders, including Lajos Kosuth, had rested before the 1849 battle.
