3 -year -old girl killed in an accident between tram and van

A three -year -old girl has died in an accident between a van and a tram, police said.
The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the girl was rushed to the hospital after an accident on Mosley Street at Manchester City Center, where she died of injuries.
The force confirmed that the child was a pedestrian and was not traveling either in the tram or van.
No arrests have been made and interrogation is on, GMP has said.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TFGM) said that it was supporting the police after the incident, which they said that had happened at around 09:56 GMT.
“All our views are with his family and loved ones in this incredibly difficult time,” said TFGM spokesperson.
Roads are closed after the collision and public transport services have been canceled, which was close to Manchester Art Gallery.
‘Long closed’
TFGM has said that no tram services are going on between St. Peter Square and Pikadili Garden.
The network is also experiencing severe delays on most lines.
Tickets and passes are being accepted on Northern Rail Services from local bus services and Ashton and Manchester Airport to the city center.
The force advised the passengers that “a long shutdown of the surrounding roads near St. Peter Square”.
